From safety workshops and educational classes to health clinic, Monthly supper table, Special need prom and seasonal festivals, Powhatan Fairgrounds offers an experience that keeps the community learning, laughing, and celebrating all year long.
A tradition since 1917, the fairgrounds has been a gathering place to celebrate community and culture where families create lasting memories and new traditions are born. It is the home of the Annual County Fair, ChowDownFreedom Festival, Trunk-0-Treat Harvest Festival, and Christmas Festival of Lights and Holiday Village. These signature events sustain our annual operations and proceeds go back into the community through scholarships and donations to families in need.
Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a large community event, our team works with you to design a seamless, memorable experience that feels truly your own. Private event rates start at $100 hr. (min 4hrs). Contact us for pricing for festivals, concerts, etc

From Downtown Richmond:
From I-95 (Exit 74A) exit onto the downtown expressway (Interstate 195), pay .70 toll; stay left, take the expressway to the Powhite Parkway (Route 76); take Powhite Parkway, keep right, pay .70 toll to Midlothian Turnpike West (State Route 60), pay .25 toll exit right. Follow Midlothian Turnpike 6 miles to Route 288. Continue pass Route 288 and remain on Midlothian Turnpike, approximately 12 miles (Midlothian Turnpike turns into Anderson Highway in Powhatan County). Fairgrounds will be on the right at Bauer Road, one mile east of State Route 522
From Richmond North:
From I-95 (North) Take exit 79, stay in left lane to the downtown expressway (Interstate 195), pay .70 toll; take the expressway to the Powhite Parkway (Route 76); take Powhite Parkway, pay .70 toll to Midlothian Turnpike West (State Route 60), pay .25 toll exit right. Follow Midlothian Turnpike 6 miles to Route 288. Continue pass Route 288 and remain on Midlothian Turnpike, approximately 12 miles (Midlothian Turnpike turns into Anderson Highway in Powhatan County). Fairgrounds will be on the right at Bauer Road, one mile east of State Route 522
From Richmond South:
From I-95 (South) Take exit 62, Route 288 (North). Follow 15 miles to Midlothian Turnpike West (Powhatan). Exit Route 288 and remain on Midlothian Turnpike (Route 60 west), approximately 12 miles (Midlothian Turnpike turns into Anderson Highway in Powhatan County). Fairgrounds will be on the right at Bauer Road, one mile east of State Route 522.
